Yuji Ito
Kagoshima University, Japan
Received PhD from Kyushu University in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He joined Kyushu University in 1990, moved to Kagoshima University in 1997 and became a professor in 2010. His research focuses on the design of functional peptides and antibodies using phage display technology for drug discovery. He also developed site-specific conjugation technologies of antibody to generate antibody drug conjugate. Since 2014, he has led several AMED projects for drug design and development and is currently the project leader of Smart Bio Project. In 2022, he established the Antibody Society of Japan, and served as its first president, promoting antibody-related projects.
